WHY THE RISING ROSE FUND?

Did you know less than 2% of teen moms earn a college degree by age 30? More than half of all mothers on welfare had their first child as a teenager. In fact, two-thirds of families begun by a young, unwed mother are poor.  The life of a young mother is a challenging one, and I personally lived through the stress, anxiety, depression, and fear that being a young mother brings. I was fortunate enough to escape being a statistic, and I am humbled to be able to help other teen moms achieve their dreams through The Rising Rose Fund Scholarship.  

The Rising Rose Fund Scholarship provides financial support to single, young mothers attending our local community colleges. By helping a young woman get an education, the likelihood of her and her family living in poverty decreases significantly. The Rose Fund Scholarship gives these moms confidence and encouragement, knowing a community of women is supporting them.
